These are easy, delicious little sammies that are fun to eat as well as make. I love them with homemade tomato sauce.

Ingredients
- HOMEMADE TOMATO SAUCE
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium shallot, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/3 cup red wine
- 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
- salt
- 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- MEATBALL SLIDERS
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1/4 pound ground pork
- 1/4 cup pancetta or bacon, cooked and cut into small chunks
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
- salt and pepper
- 8 slider buns
- 8 slices fresh mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup fresh arugula
How To Make meatball parm sliders

Step 1To make the tomato sauce: Place the olive oil in a Dutch oven. Add the onions and garlic and season with salt. Cook until the onions are browned.

Step 2Add the red wine and cook until most is evaporated.

Step 3Add the crushed tomatoes, red pepper flakes, sugar, Italian seasoning, and 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer and simmer for 1 hour.

Step 4For the meatballs, place the ground beef, ground pork, cooked pancetta, garlic, bread crumbs, egg, and Parmesan in a large bowl. Add salt and pepper. Let it sit in the fridge for 1 hour.

Step 5In a large skillet, add some butter and once hot, place the buns upside down in the pan to brown the insides. Remove the buns and set aside.

Step 6Add oil to the pan and roll the meat into 8 meatballs. Place in the oil and brown on all sides.

Step 7While the meatballs cook, place a slice of mozzarella on the bottom of the buns and place the arugula on the top bun.

Step 8Put a spoonful of tomato sauce on the top of each meatball and cover and cook for 2 minutes.

Step 9Place a meatball with sauce on the top of the cheese on each bottom bun. Place the top bun on and enjoy.
