An easy version of a classic sandwich!

Ingredients

  • HERB BUTTER
  • 1/2 stick butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon dry italian seasoning
  • SANDWICHES
  • 6 - hoagie rolls
  • 1 package hard salami
  • 1 package deli smoked ham
  • 12 slices sliced mozzarella or provolone cheese
  • OPTIONS TO ADD
  • - giardiniera mix
  • - pepperoni or other meat
  • - red wine vinegar & oil with salt and pepper
  • - onion
  • - hot or sweet peppers

How To Make hot italian hoagie

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350.
  • Step 2
    Mix butter and italian seasoning. Evenly spread butter on inside of hoagie rolls.
  • Step 3
    Layer one slice mozzarella, 3 slices folded salami, 2 slices folded ham,one more slice mozzarella. (this is where you could add more meat or the giardiniera mix to the sandwich)
  • Step 4
    Once the sandwiches are assembled, place them into a large baking dish. Make sure they are tightly pressed together, placing them sideways, with an open side facing up.
  • Step 5
    Bake for 10 minutes until cheese is melted. (bake longer if you prefer a toasted sandwich)
