Ingredients

  • 1 6-oz can(s)
    tuna in water, canned, drained, flaked
  • 1/3 c
    fat-free mayonnaise
  • 1/2 c
    celery, chopped
  • 1/3 c
    green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp
    ripe olives, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp
    dried thyme, crushed
  • 6 slice
    dark rye bread
  • 6 slice
    fat-free pasturized cheese slices

How to Make Hearty Tuna Melts

Step-by-Step

  1. Heat oven to 350ºF.
  2. Combine tuna, mayonnaise, celery, green pepper, olives, and thyme; mix lightly. For each sandwich, top bread slice with 1/4 cup tuna mixture; cover with slice of cheese.
  3. Bake at 350ºF for 10 minutes or broil until cheese melts.
