Ingredients

  • 6 slice
    ham slices
  • 3 slice
    roast pork
  • 6 slice
    swiss cheese
  • 3 slice
    large dill pickle, sliced lengthwise
  • 1
    loaf french bread
  • 1/2
    purple onion, sliced thinly
  • 1/2
    red bell pepper, sliced into think rounds
  • ·
    deli mustard, to taste
  • ·
    mojo criolla sauce, to taste
  • ·
    butter
  • ·
    mayonnaise, to taste

How to Make Clay's Cuban

Step-by-Step

  1. Pre heat sandwich press to medium to medium high.
  2. Cut loaf of bread in thirds lengthwise and then sliced each third in 3 slices flatwise.
  3. Put mayo and mustard on bottom bread slice. Put on red onions and bell peppers on bottom slice.
  4. Put 2 T mojo sauce over the red onions and bell peppers. Put on 1 slice of roast pork.
  5. Put on 2 slices of ham folded to fit sandwich. Put on the slice of dill pickle. Next top with 2 slices of swiss cheese.
  6. Butter the top of bread, and the bottom of the bread.
  7. Place in pre heated sandwich press. Lower the lid and carefully press down. Cook about 5 minutes and check for golden brown surface.
  8. If sandwich is wedge shaped turn end for end and continue to press sandwich until the top is golden brown.
  9. Slice and serve.
