Ingredients

  • 4 pounds beef roast
  • salt and pepper
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 black tea bags
  • 1 cup Russian dressing
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice

How To Make tea cooked pot roast with russian sauce

  • Step 1
    Season the roast with salt and pepper. Place in a slow cooker. Add the beef broth, onions, garlic, and tea bags. Cook on low for 8 hours. Remove the roast from slow cooker.
  • Step 2
    Strain the sauce and discard the solids. Place 1 1/2 cups of the sauce in a sauce pan and discard the rest. Add the Russian dressing, brown sugar, and lemon juice. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer; simmer 10 minutes to reduce.
  • Step 3
    Pour over the roast and serve over potatoes or noodles.
