This is our family's Easter Ham. It is so tasty and easy to prepare. It's definitely a Family Favorite

Ingredients

  • One
    15 to 18 pound ham, (butt)
  • ·
    whole cloves
  • 3 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 c
    mustard, spicy brown
  • 1 1/4 c
    dr. pepper soda
  • 3 Tbsp
    apple cider vinegar

How to Make Easter Ham

Step-by-Step

  1. Pre- oven to 325°
  2. Score surface of ham in a diamond pattern. Insert cloves. Place ham in a large roasting pan with a rack on bottom. Tent with foil and bake approximately 2 to 2 1/2 hours, checking package directions for exact time.
  3. Meanwhile, in a sauce pan heat the brown sugar, mustard, vinegar and Dr. Pepper until bubbly. Cook until reduced and thick, about 15 minutes.
  4. After ham has been baking for 2 hours, remove foil and brush the glaze on ham, repeating every 20 minutes, returning ham to oven uncovered between brushings. When finished, remove from oven and let rest 15 minutes.
