  • 3 lb
    baby back ribs
  • 6 qt
    water
  • 1 c
    salt
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 4 clove
    garlic
  • ·
    dry rub seasoning of choice
  • ·
    salt and pepper
  • ·
    favorite barbecue sauce

How to Make Baby Back Ribs Without a Smoker

Step-by-Step

  1. Rinse ribs and remove fibrous material on back of ribs, if desired. Cut into 3 or 4 sections. Bring to boil in 6 qt. of water and simmer on low for about a half hour. Skim off scum if desired.
  2. Let stand to dry for about 5 minutes.
    Heat grill for direct heat.
  3. Brush ribs with olive oil.
    Sprinkle ribs with dry rub,salt and pepper.
  4. Brush hot grates with oil and grill meat. Turn a few times until charred in spots, about 5-10 minutes. Brush with BBQ sauce the last few minutes, or just serve at the table.
