It is called "toad in the hole" because it looks like a toad sticking its little head out of its hole...when the sausage cooks, it pokes its "head" out of the batter

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • 2Pour oil in bottom of baking dish.and arrange the sausages in a single layer. Bake for 10 min
  • 3In a medium bowl whisk together flour,eggs,milk until smooth.
  • 4Remove the sausage from oven.Ladle batter over sausages.Return to oven bake for 35 min.Or until the
    center is risen and brown. If the underside is a little soft Don't Worry as this normal. Enjoy
