After completing the LOGAN Sandwich Challenge and seeing Lynn's Yummy Naan sammie, it got the creative juices flowing and I was inspired to make a sandwich using the letters of my last name; hence, The RATHBUN was born.
R = Rosemary
A = Asiago
T = Thyme
H = Ham
B = Butter
U = Ube (Purple yam)
N = Naan

Hope you enjoy! It is sweet and savory all in one.
Ube is a purple yam grown in the Philippines. It usually can be found in your local Asian market and at some regular grocery store chains.

Ingredients

1 Tbsp
fresh rosemary, chopped
1 Tbsp
fresh thyme, chopped
1/4 c
butter, softened
2-3 medium
ube (purple yams), peeled and sliced thinly
8 oz
ham, cubed
8 oz
asiago cheese, shredded
4 pieces
naan bread

How to Make The RATHBUN

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, chopped rosemary and chopped thyme until well combined. Two tablespoons for brushing naan and two tablespoons for sauteing.
  • 2Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • 3Brush each piece of naan bread with the two tablespoons butter mixture for brushing and sprinkle with cheese, bake for approximately 6 to 8 minute, until cheese is melted.
  • 4While naan is baking:

    Place sliced ube in skillet with 2 tablespoons of butter mixture for sauteing and saute until ube is tender.
  • 5Remove from skillet and add cubed ham, saute until warmed through and slightly browned.
  • 6Time for the naan to be removed from oven and topped with sliced ube, cubed ham, and remaining cheese.
