Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon peanut oil
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 inch piece ginger grated
- 8 ounces shiitake mushrooms sliced
- 1 medium shallot chopped
- 1 pound ground pork
- 2 star anise
- 3 tablespoons shaoxing wine
- 1/2 ounce rock sugar or 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons mushroom soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon white pepper
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 cup preserved mustard stems
- 1/4 cup green onions chopped
- rice noodles cooked according to packge directions
How To Make taiwanese braised minced pork

Step 1Add the oil to a large Wok or skillet. Add the ginger, garlic, shallots and mushrooms. Cook until softened and the mushrooms have given up their liquid. Add the ground pork and star anise.

Step 2Cook until the pork is done. Add the shaoxing wine, rock sugar, mushroom soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, and white pepper. Add the water and bring to a boil.

Step 3Simmer 20 minutes until most of the water is absorbed. Stir in the mustard stems and green onions. Remove the star anise Serve over rice noodles.
