  • 1 can(s)
    pineapple chunks in syrup (13oz can)
  • 1/2 c
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1 lb
    lean pork
  • 1 medium
    egg, slightly beaten
  • 4 Tbsp
  • 1/2 c
  • 1/3 c
  • 2 tsp
    soy sauce
  • 1/3 c
    pineapple syrup
  • 1/4 c
  • 1/4 c
  • 2 Tbsp
  • 1/2 slice
    celery, sliced
  • 1 medium
    green bell pepper, sliced in strips
  • 1 small
    carrot, sliced thin
  • ·
    cooked rice or crisp noodles

How to Make Sweet & Sour Pork


  1. Drain pineapple chunks and reserve syrup. Cut pork into 3/4 inch cubes, combine flour and salt. Dip pork cubes into beaten egg and then into seasoned flour.
  2. Cook in hot oil about 5 minutes or until crispy on all sides. Remove from pan and keep warm. Pour honey, vinegar, soy sauce, pineapple syrup and ketchup into a pan and blend.
  3. Bring to a boil. Mix cornstarch in water and add, stirring constantly. Cook until thickened. Add the cooked pork, pineapple chunks and vegetables.
  4. Simmer 5 minutes. Serve hot over steamed rice or crispy noodles.
