Ingredients
- FOR MEATBALLS:
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 - egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoons corn starch
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- ½ teaspoon roasted garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 - scallion, chopped
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil + 1 tbsp for rolling the meatballs
- FOR SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE :
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon grape jelly
- 2 teaspoons pineapple preserves
- 2 teaspoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
- ½ cup chicken stock, no salt
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
How To Make sweet and sour pork meatballs

Step 1Meatballs: Combine all meatball ingredients (except vegetable oil) in a medium bowl. Sauce: In separate bowl, mix all the sauce ingredients, set a side.

Step 2Place 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a small condiment bowl. Lightly oil your both hand as needed and use a tablespoon measurement to scoop the meat. Shape the meat into rounds (meatballs) and place in a sheet pan.

Step 3Heat 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large non stick saute pan over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until golden brown all sides. Remove from the pan and drain on a plate lined with paper towel.

Step 4Cook minced garlic in the pan for 15 seconds and add sauce mixture. Turn the heat down to low and add meatballs. Cover the saute pan and let the meatballs steamed and the sauce is thickened for 5 minutes.

Step 5Uncover the pan and turn the heat up to medium heat. Simmer the sauce and stir until the sauce covering the meatballs. Turn the heat off and serve.
