Surprise! Pulled Pork for Sammies

Shawn Sisler

It was nasty hot at 8 am so I was determined not to heat up my kitchen at all today. I thought crock pot and sandwiches for supper, that's how I'll go. I thought I had a pork shoulder in the freezer but nope just a 4 pound end portion of ham. "What's ham?" I thought. "well it's just smoked pork butt" I'll try it... I'll never go back to regular pork for pulled pork sandwiches again, and my family thanks me for it. Wish I had pictures.

1Spray the interior of your crock pot with non-stick cooking spray.
2Dump in all ingredients except meat and mix well. Add meat, turn on crock pot to high if you're only cooking for 4 hours low and slow for 8 hours or more.
3Remove bone, smash meat with large serving spoon until it is shredded. Serve on large hamburger buns or buns of your choosing. I served coleslaw, bbq chips and corn on the cob for sides.
