My friend, Susan, knowing how much I love to cook, gave me this recipe. It's NOT the most fabulous BBQ you'll ever have -- the apples keep it moist but cut the barbecue sauce too much. Maybe lessen the apples and use super-flavor BBQ? But it's CONSISTENTLY good. And it's EASY. And it makes a LOT. Tailor to your own needs by changing quality of meat, barbecue sauce, amounts of either, etc.
1Place barbecue sauce and apple pie filling in crock pot and mix. Add pork, making sure pork is well covered. Cook on medium for seven hours. Adjust amount of sauce and time based on size of meat. Serve as meat entree or sandwiches. Leftovers can be shredded for sandwiches or left in chunks and should be stored in refrigerator or frozen.
