ricotta
16 oz
parmesan
16 oz
mozzarella
1 lb
frozen spinach (thawed)
1 lb
ground beef
3/4 lb
italian sausage, sweet
1 large
onion
1 tsp
italian seasoning
1/2 tsp
basil
2 large
eggs
1 large
box large or extra large pasta shells
1 large
spaghetti sauce

How to Make Stuffed Pasta Shells

Step-by-Step

  • 1Bring water and salt to boil and add pasta shells. Cook to desired tenderness
  • 2Brown groundbeef, italian sausage and onion chopping as you cook. Drain and let cool
  • 3combine ricotta, parmesan, and mozzarella and mix together (Using hands in the easiest way to combine)
  • 4drain spinach and add to cheese mixture
  • 5Add egg to the cheese and spiniach mixing untill well combined
  • 6add cooled meat mixture (ensure meat is cooled so as not to melt the cheese) and mix until well combined
  • 7in a baking dish add enough spaghetti sauce to cover bottom of dish
  • 8using a spoon fill each shell with cheese and meat mixture arranging in a single layer in baking dish
  • 9Pour remaining spaghetti sauce over the stuffed shells and cover in a layer of mozarella or italian cheese
  • 10Back at 350 for one hour until cheese is melted and bubbley
