Ingredients

  • 2 c
    ricotta
  • 16 oz
    parmesan
  • 16 oz
    mozzarella
  • 1 lb
    frozen spinach (thawed)
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 3/4 lb
    italian sausage, sweet
  • 1 large
    onion
  • 1 tsp
    italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp
    basil
  • 2 large
    eggs
  • 1 large
    box large or extra large pasta shells
  • 1 large
    spaghetti sauce

How to Make Stuffed Pasta Shells

Step-by-Step

  1. Bring water and salt to boil and add pasta shells. Cook to desired tenderness
  2. Brown groundbeef, italian sausage and onion chopping as you cook. Drain and let cool
  3. combine ricotta, parmesan, and mozzarella and mix together (Using hands in the easiest way to combine)
  4. drain spinach and add to cheese mixture
  5. Add egg to the cheese and spiniach mixing untill well combined
  6. add cooled meat mixture (ensure meat is cooled so as not to melt the cheese) and mix until well combined
  7. in a baking dish add enough spaghetti sauce to cover bottom of dish
  8. using a spoon fill each shell with cheese and meat mixture arranging in a single layer in baking dish
  9. Pour remaining spaghetti sauce over the stuffed shells and cover in a layer of mozarella or italian cheese
  10. Back at 350 for one hour until cheese is melted and bubbley
