Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean pork
  • 1 bunch leeks
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons peanut oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • - a few drops of sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons dry sherry
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • - dash of white pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

How To Make stir-fried pork and leeks

  • Step 1
    Dice pork, diagonally across the grain into bite size pieces. On a clean cutting board slice leeks (white and light green parts only).
  • Step 2
    Heat oil. Add salt, then garlic, and brown lightly. Add pork and leeks. Stir fry until golden (about 2 minutes)
  • Step 3
    Mix cornstarch with chicken broth. Stir in broth mixture and heat quickly, then cook, covered,. 2 to 3 minutes over medium heat.
  • Step 4
    . Meanwhile, combine soy sauce, sherry, sugar, pepper and sesame oil; then add and cook, stirring, 2 minutes more.
  • Step 5
    Serve over hot cooked rice.
