southern sausage gravy and biscuits
I was given the sausage gravy recipe by a Native Floridian that I consider my adopted dad. The gravy is a nice stick to your ribs thick gravy. I have only come across something similar once before and that was a breakfast restaurant nearby. Top this on your favorite biscuit recipe or store bought Grands! YUM!!!

How To Make southern sausage gravy and biscuits
-
Step 1In a medium fry pan, brown your sausage. When browned thoroughly, turn off heat and set aside.
-
Step 2In a heavy saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Blend in flour and seasonings.
-
Step 3Cook over low heat until smooth and bubbly. Allow this mixture to bubble for approximately 1 minute (this assures that you don't get that starchy flour taste)
-
Step 4Remove from heat. Stir in your milk Put mixture back on the burner stirring constantly. Once mixture smooths out, add your sausage and the drippings. Bring mixture to a boil and boil for at least 1 minute. Serve with your favorite biscuit recipe.
