Never would have thought to put cloves and pork chop together, but they make a great marriage in this very easy dish.

pork chops, center cut
kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
all purpose flour
2 Tbsp
butter
4-6
whole cloves
1 Tbsp
sugar
1/2 c
water
1/2 c
sour cream
1
bay leaf
2 Tbsp
vinegar

How to Make Sour Cream Pork Chops

Step-by-Step

  • 1Season chops with salt and pepper; dredge in flour.
  • 2Brown chops in 2 tablespoons butter.
  • 3Insert a clove in each chop and place in a a baking dish.
  • 4In the same pan that chops were browned, add sugar, water, sour cream, bay leaf and vinegar.
  • 5Bring to a boil; pour over chops. Tightly cover and bake in 350-degree oven for 1 1/2 hours.
  • 6Discard bay leaf and cloves.
