Never would have thought to put cloves and pork chop together, but they make a great marriage in this very easy dish.

  • 4-6
    pork chops, center cut
  • ·
    kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • ·
    all purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp
  • 4-6
    whole cloves
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 1/2 c
  • 1/2 c
    sour cream
  • 1
    bay leaf
  • 2 Tbsp

How to Make Sour Cream Pork Chops


  1. Season chops with salt and pepper; dredge in flour.
  2. Brown chops in 2 tablespoons butter.
  3. Insert a clove in each chop and place in a a baking dish.
  4. In the same pan that chops were browned, add sugar, water, sour cream, bay leaf and vinegar.
  5. Bring to a boil; pour over chops. Tightly cover and bake in 350-degree oven for 1 1/2 hours.
  6. Discard bay leaf and cloves.
