- 4 - pork steak
- 1 large onion
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can mushrooms (drained)
- 1/2 tablespoon horseradish (if desired)
- - vegetable or canola oil for browning
How To Make smothered pork steaks
-
Step 1season steaks with your favorite seasoning (Mrs Dash, season salt or just salt & pepper)
-
Step 2heat oil in large frying pan over high heat, brown steaks on both sides on high.
-
Step 3chop onion & add onion, mushrooms & cream of mushroom soup to chops, redude to low & cover. Simmer over low heat for 1 to 1 1/4 hour. If using horseradish you can add that about 1/2 way thru cooking time and mix into the soup & onion mixture. It just adds a little kick but you do NOT need to use it.
-
Step 4remove steaks to dinner plates & stir soup/onion/mushroom mix together for gravy. Excellent served over wide egg noodles or dumpling noodles.
