smothered pork chops

I wanted a new way to cook pork chops so I went to food network and found a recipe http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/lowcountry-smothered-pork-chops-recipe/index.html that inspired this dish, I altered it to the way I thought it ought to be. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Ingredients

  • 6 - loin chops about 1/2 in thick
  • 2 cups white wine
  • 1 - yellow onion choped
  • 1/2 - bag of stirfry peppers (frozen) or 2 fresh bell peppers
  • 2 cups chicken bouillon (i use
  • a few dash garlic powder
  • a few dash cayenne pepper
  • a few dash worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil, extra virgin

How To Make smothered pork chops

  • Step 1
    place chops in large ziplock bag and add the wine and refrigerate for at least an hour over night would be best
  • Step 2
    drain chops and add salt, pepper and cayenne and let set for 1/2 hour
  • Step 3
    in large skillet melt butter
  • Step 4
    coat the chops with flour and brown in butter about 3 min remove from pan
  • Step 5
    add olive oil, peppers and onions saute for about 1 min replace chops moving the peppers and onions on top of them
  • Step 6
    add bouillon and Worcestershire sauce do not stir
  • Step 7
    cover and simmer for about 20 min let stand for about 5 min and serve with rice
