Smothered pork chops with onions

  • 4 medium
    pork chops
  • 1 slice
    vidalia onion
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 c
    vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 c

How to Make Smothered pork chops with onions


  1. rinse pork chops off and pat dry.
  2. mix salt,black pepper and paprika together in a bowl, then add to pork chops.
  3. coat the pork chops with the flour on both sides.
  4. heat vegetable oil on medium setting,when oil is hot add pork chops and brown on each side. When browned remove from skillet and place on plate.
  5. Then add onions to skillet and slightly brown them, then add any remaining flour to the skillet and brown and add the water and stir.
  6. Add the pork chops to the gravy mixture, reduce heat to simmer, cover and cook for 35 mins.
