four porkchops
1 c
italian bread crumbs
1 pkg
finely chopped cheddar cheese
1 Tbsp
salt and pepper
4 Tbsp
coconut oil
1 large
red onion, chopped
2 c
chicken broth
2 1/3 Tbsp
flour for gravy

How to Make Smothered Pork Chops


  • 1Bread your pork chops with bread crumbs and cheese, then pan fry them just to golden brown. Take them out of the pan and strain the oil, keep a little in the pan to saute the onions.
  • 2Saute the onions until translucent, place the pork chops back into the pan on top of the onions. Add a little flour to thicken the gravy. Cover with 2 cups of chicken broth. Place cover on pan and cook for 1 hour until gravy is thick and chops are tender. Then serve and enjoy over rice or just like that with a vegetable.
