Ingredients

  • 7-8 pounds pork butt
  • 6 - garlic cloves
  • 3 - bitter oranges (naranja agria) also comes bottled
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

How To Make slow & low shredded roast pork

  • Step 1
    slice the garlic cloves and make slits in pork, stuff with the garlic slices.
  • Step 2
    squeeze the bitter oranges all over, add salt
  • Step 3
    cover and refrigerate 24 hours, place in oven, at 325 for 5 hours uncovered, basting every hour, then broil top for 5 to 10 mins until skin bubbles
  • Step 4
    in a saute pan put olive oil and sliced onions, soften for about 5 mins.
  • Step 5
    take pork out and let rest about 15 mins....shred with 2 forks and put in serving dish and pour the onions over it....mmmmmmm...delicious if you like add lime juice
