This is soooo good, and smells so good, that it has never gotten to the spaghetti sauce I developed it as a base for !!! You can certainly use fresh veggies, but this is what I do. Also, you can add more sausage if you have a large crock pot ! Adjust the quantity on the onions or peppers. Very forgiving recipe !!! Just don't add too much water !!! Update : October 2013 Finally got some of this into some jarred sauce and pasta !!! It was worth the wait !!!! I had some friends taste test it, and it was gone in no time at all !!! YUMMY !!!

Ingredients

  • 2 or 3 packages italian sausages, hot, mild, or mixed
  • 1 can french onion soup
  • 2 - beef bullion cubes
  • 1 can (soupcan) water
  • 2 packages frozen onions
  • 2 packages frozen peppers

How To Make slow cooker sausage, onion and peppers

  • Step 1
Using a sharp knife, separate the sausages and punch a few holes in the skin of each and every one !
  • Step 2
Pile them in the slow cooker. Empty the onions, and peppers over the sausage. Put in the bullion cubes, then the soup, and one soup can water.
  • Step 3
Turn onto High for an hour, and turn down low for 8 - 10 hours. You can eat these as is on long rolls, or cut up and add to some pasta sauce from the store.... Let me know if you do, I can't ever save enough for that !!!
