Slow Cooker Crock Pot


  • 1
    pork shoulder roast (bone-in)
  • 1 c
    bbq sauce
  • 1/2 c
    apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 c
    chicken broth
  • 1/4 c
    light brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    prepared yellow mustard
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 2 to 3 dash(es)
    crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    dried thyme
  • 4 to 6 dash(es)
    liquid smoke flavoring
  • 1 large
    chopped yellow onion
  • 2 clove
    crushed garlic

How to Make Slow Cooker Pulled BBQ


  1. Salt and pepper both sides of pork roast and place in crock pot with fat side up.
  2. Pour in BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar and chicken broth.
  3. Stir in brown sugar, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, cinnamon, thyme, onion, garlic, crushed red pepper and liquid smoke.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 10 to 12 hours overnight.
  5. Remove roast from cooker and take out bone and fat. Shred pork using a fork.
  6. Strain liquid and return to cooker, stirring in pulled pork. Add additional salt, BBQ sauce and liquid smoke to desired taste.
  7. Cook on low for another 2 to 3 hours, allowing meat to soak up flavor.
