Italian sausage and peppers/onions are a match made in heaven. Serve with sliced polenta that has been heated and browned in the oven or your choice of side such as pasta.

Ingredients

  • 1 - 1/2 pounds italian sausage, hot preferred
  • 2 1 each red and green bell peppers, cut into strips
  • 1 medium onion, sliced into half moons
  • 1 can 14.5 oz. can diced tomatoes with basil and oregano (or just add basil/oregano to diced tomatoes)
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • optional: 1 tube polenta, cut into 1/2 inch slices and browned on both sides

How To Make slow cooker italian sausage with peppers & onions

  • Step 1
    Cut sausage into 1 inch pieces and cook them until browned on both sides.
  • Step 2
    Add sausage to slow cooker along with bell peppers, onions, tomatoes and garlic.
  • Step 3
    Cook on low 6 hours.
