slow cooker cuban pork
I received this recipe from a good friend in the great big state of Texas, after I had posted it on my site, another friend made and was most impressed, a few weeks later I prepared, and I must say, this is delicious. Now what is Cuban Pork, I have no idea, I've never been to Cuba, but as far as pork with a good flavor, this is excellent.

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup lime juice
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 7 cloves garlic, smashed and minced
- 1 - onion, sliced thin
- 1 - bay leaf
- 1 1/2 kilograms pork shoulder, (3 lbs)
How To Make slow cooker cuban pork

Step 1In a medium bowl, whisk together the oil, juices, salt, cumin, oregano, red pepper flakes, pepper, and garlic.

Step 2Make slits in the pork with a knife and place the pork in the juice mixture and rub liberally all over with the oil mixture.

Step 3Place pork in the slow cooker, along with the onion and bay leaf. Pour the remaining juices from the bowl over the pork.

Step 4Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. Transfer pork to a cutting board and let cool slightly. Using two forks, shred into thick chunks. OR just shred it in the pot then use a large slotted spoon to scoop it out (this is the method I did in this photo, works great).

Step 5Serve with cilantro lime rice and black beans, mashed potatoes, or in a sandwich with some of the juice spooned over the top, or in a tortilla with Cheddar cheese, etc.
