slow cooker barbeque ribs

My husband requests this recipe often, especially in the summer. I found this recipe on another website, and it is delicious!! My husband encouraged me to share it with you. He said "it's too good to keep a secret." So...here it is! Recipe from Allrecipes.com Photos: my own

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds pork baby back ribs
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 1 cup chili sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 4 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1 dash hot pepper sauce (i used 10 drops)

How To Make slow cooker barbeque ribs

  • Step 1
    Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees. Gather ingredients.
  • Step 2
    Season ribs with salt and pepper. Place in a shallow baking pan. Brown for 15 minutes. Turn over, and brown for another 15 minutes; drain fat.
  • Making BBQ sauce
    Step 3
    In a medium bowl, mix together the ketchup, chili sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, oregano, worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and salt and pepper. Place ribs in slow cooker. Pour sauce over ribs, being careful to coat them all with the sauce.
  • Covered in BBQ sauce and ready to cook.
    Step 4
    Cover, and cook on low for 6 - 8 hours. or until ribs are tender.
  • Ribs cut to fit in slow cooker
    Step 5
    ***You may have to cut ribs in order to fit in your slow cooker. Be careful to cut between the bone. ***I serve these with creamy coleslaw, and baked beans. Yummy!!
