simple sweet and sour pork

A neighbor brought this dish over one day after I had surgery. It became a family favorite. Became my favorite because it was so easy and tasted good. I added celery and waterchestnuts to the orignal recipe because I like the crunch. Either way it is wonderful.

Ingredients
- 1 pound lean pork cut in bite size pieces
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 - egg yolk
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 3/4 can water or pineapple juice
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 1 - sliced green pepper
- 2 - sliced carrots
- 1 - sliced onion
- 1 can pineapple chunks
- 3 tablespoons corn starch
- 2 - celery stalks (if desired)
- 1 can sliced water chestnuts (if desired)
How To Make simple sweet and sour pork

Step 1Marinate meat 20 minutes in soy sauce,egg yolk and corn starch.

Step 2Deep fry in hot oil until golden brown. Remove meat from pan.

Step 3Using same pan stir fry the green peppers, carrots and onions (celery and water chestnuts if desired).

Step 4In seperate bowl mix vinegar, sugar, water/ pineapple juice and ketchup.

Step 5Add sauce to to vegetable mixture. It will begin to thicken.

Step 6Add meat and pineapple chunks (any size can depending on the amount of pineapple desired). Cook until bubbling. Serve over rice.
