shrimp & sausage jambalya mix

I got this recipe off of Paula Dean's show on the Food Network. It is quick and simple and has a wonderful flavor~

Ingredients

  • 1 cup long grain rice (raw)
  • 3 tablespoons dried minced onions
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
  • 1 tablespoon beef bouillon granules
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 - bay leaf
  • - jambalya mix from above
  • 21/2 cups water
  • 1 can petite cut tomatoes
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1/2 - lb. sausage-sliced
  • 1 - lb. raw shrimp

How To Make shrimp & sausage jambalya mix

  • Step 1
    Combine first 10 ingredients in a ziplock bag...shake to mix well. You can give as gift with recipe below or use, or store for a later date to make the Jambalya~
  • Step 2
    TO MAKE JAMBALYA:
  • Step 3
    In a Dutch Oven pot; combine all ingredients except shrimp. bring to a boil. Cover, lower temperature, simmer 20 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Add shrimp, stir well, cook over medium heat for about 8 minutes until shrimp are pink and done. Stirring to make sure it doesn't stick.
  • Step 5
    Let sit a little bit to absorb the liquid~
