An experiment that turned out totally scrumptious! You have got to try these awesome chops. Too easy to be so good...I love anything made with soy, garlic and honey...the sherry added depth to the flavor. The marinade would also be great on cubed pieces of pork or even chicken for kabobs. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 5- 6 - 1 inch thick - pork loin chops or any thick chop
  • 1 tablespoon each - sesame oil & vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup each - dry sherry & soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon jarred minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon, ginger root paste
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 2 tablespoons water and 1 1/2 teaspoon corn starch for thickening marinade

How To Make ~ sherried asian chops ~

  • Step 1
    In a small saucepan over med heat, add sesame oil, garlic and ginger paste. Cook for 30 seconds, 1 minute if using fresh garlic. Remove from heat and stir in soy, honey, sherry, orange zest and sesame seeds.
  • Step 2
    Place chops on a 9 x 13 shallow dish and pour the marinade over the chops. Cover and refrigerate for an hour or two, turning occasionally.
  • Step 3
    Have grill heating and remove chops from marinade. Grill for 10 - 12 minutes on each side. While they're grilling, place remaining marinade in a saucepan, mix cornstarch with water and whisk into marinade. Bring to a boil and stir constantly until slightly thickened.
  • Step 4
    While chops are grilling, brush with marinade several times, until chops are cooked through.
  • Step 5
    Can drizzle with remaining marinade as well. Enjoy! They were awesome!
