savory oven barbequed spare ribs

This is a family and friend favorite. The meat falls right off the bone. It is finger licken good. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups ketchup
  • 3-5 pounds pork ribs - any type (i use baby back)
  • 4 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • - flour to coat ribs
  • 1 - green pepper (diced)
  • 1 can pineapple tidbits or 1/2 20 oz. can chopped pineapple

How To Make savory oven barbequed spare ribs

  • Step 1
    Place all ingredients (except ribs) into a large heavy sauce pan and bring to a boil - stirring occassionally. (Cook until all ingredients are well blended.)
  • Step 2
    Sprinkle the ribs with the flour.
  • Step 3
    Place ribs in a large baking pan.
  • Step 4
    Pour sauce over ribs and cover pan with aluminum foil.
  • Step 5
    Bake ribs at 300 degrees for 3 - 3 1/2 hours.
  • Step 6
    Skim fat off of sauce before serving. (I cut the ribs into 4-rib pieces.)
