sausage rice
We made this on a larger scale at a daycare I worked at. Definitely kid-tested and approved. I dare you to try not to go back for seconds! I use this as a main dish and normally serve it with sweet peas and applesauce. But it could be used as a side dish just as easily. Also, try adding a can of diced tomatoes. I like Del Monte's diced tomatoes with garlic and onion. Adds good flavor and a pop of color.

Ingredients
- 8 ounces sausage (half roll or about 6 patties)
- 1 can Campbell's beef consomme (10.5 oz)
- 1 can Campbell's french onion soup (10.5 oz)
- 2 cups Minute white rice
How To Make sausage rice

Step 1Brown sausage in a pan. Do not drain; keep that flavor!

Step 2Add beef consomme and French onion soup to the pan with sausage. Bring mixture to a boil.

Step 3Add rice. Stir. Cover.

Step 4Remove from heat. Let stand about 10 minutes or until most of the liquid is absorbed. Fluff, serve, and enjoy.
