sausage rice

We made this on a larger scale at a daycare I worked at. Definitely kid-tested and approved. I dare you to try not to go back for seconds! I use this as a main dish and normally serve it with sweet peas and applesauce. But it could be used as a side dish just as easily. Also, try adding a can of diced tomatoes. I like Del Monte's diced tomatoes with garlic and onion. Adds good flavor and a pop of color.

  • 1 can Campbell's beef consomme (10.5 oz)
  • 1 can Campbell's french onion soup (10.5 oz)
  • 2 cups Minute white rice

How To Make sausage rice

Brown sausage in a pan. Do not drain; keep that flavor!

Add beef consomme and French onion soup to the pan with sausage. Bring mixture to a boil.

    Add rice. Stir. Cover.
  • Step 4
Remove from heat. Let stand about 10 minutes or until most of the liquid is absorbed. Fluff, serve, and enjoy.
