sausage and rice casserole
I also learned this in home economics back in the mid 80's. it was so good i kept it. I thought it was weird to use breakfast sausage but oh the flavor of it in this dish is exciting on the taste buds.

Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground breakfast sausage (jimmy dean or owens or store brand)
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 2 sprigs celery sliced medium to thin (i like some bigger pieces of celery for texture)
- 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
- 2 cans cream of celery soup
- 1 cup milk
- - 5-6 cups cooked white rice
- - salt and pepper to taste
- - velveeta cheese
How To Make sausage and rice casserole

Step 1In a Dutch oven cook sausage with onions and celery breaking sausage up to a fine ground texture.

Step 2add cream of soups and salt and pepper. add your rice. spread into a 9x13 casserole dish, top with velveeta slices. melt in oven 350. so yummy. my kids love it!
