This recipe is from one of Paula Deen's cookbooks. Yum! I sprinkle a little chopped fresh parsley on top before serving.

Ingredients

  • 1 box uncle ben's long grain & wild rice, 6 oz
  • 1 pound bulk pork sausage
  • 2 small onions, chopped
  • 1 can mushroom pieces, 4 oz
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup, 10 1/2 oz
  • 4 tablespoons butter

How To Make sausage and rice casserole

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Step 2
    Cook rice according to the directions on the box.
  • Step 3
    In a heavy skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until thoroughly done; drain.
  • Step 4
    Combine all ingredients except butter and pour into casserole dish. Dot top with butter.
  • Step 5
    Bake until bubbly, about 25 minutes.
