Ingredients

  • - 2 tbsp. flour
  • - 1 3/4 tsp. salt
  • - 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • - 1 tsp. caraway seeds
  • - 1/2 tsp. sugar
  • - 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • - 1/4 tsp. dried sage
  • - 1 pork loin roast, 4 lbs.
  • - nonstick cooking spray
  • - 1 1/2 cups applesauce
  • - 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • - 1/4 tsp. allspice

How To Make roast pork with apple topping

  • Step 1
    Mix flour, 1 1/2 tsp. of the salt, mustard, caraway, sugar, pepper and sage in small bowl. Rub over the pork. Cover and let stand for 30 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Preheat oven to 350. Arrange the roast, fat side up on baking rack coated with cooking spray in roasting pan. Roast, uncovered, for 1 hour.
  • Step 3
    Mix the applesauce, brown sugar, allspice and the remaining 1/4 tsp. salt in small bowl. Spread over the pork. Roast for 1 hour or til meat thermometer registers 160 to 170. Let stand for 15 minutes before slicing. Serves 8
