This recipe was given to me by a close friend and I have in turn been asked to pass it along. To me it's the best chili I've had! Hope you enjoy it.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 1/2 lb
    bulk pork sausage
  • 2 large
    onions, chopped
  • 1 large
    green bell pepper
  • 3 clove
    garlic, crushed
  • 3- 14 oz
    cans whole tomatoes, undrained and chopped
  • 2 c
    water
  • 1/2 c
    catsup
  • 3 Tbsp
    chili seasoning packet
  • 1 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 2 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 1- 14 oz
    can pinto beans, undrained
  • 1- 6 oz
    can tomato paste
  • 1- 14 oz
    can beef broth
  • 1 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
    red pepper

How to Make Rich and Spicy Chili

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine beef and sausage in large dutch oven. Cook until brown, stirring to crumble; drain.
  2. Add onion and remaining ingredients, except beans, and stir well. Cover and simmer over low heat 2 1/2 hours, stirring frequently. Stir in beans and cook for 30 more minutes. Enjoy!
