You can make this for breakfast or dinner. This is also a great dish to make ahead, store in the refrigerator and bake the next morning or evening.

Ingredients

  • 1 box
    uncle ben's original recipe wild rice, cooked
  • 1 lb
    sausage, cooked (i use jimmy deans)
  • 16 oz
    sour cream
  • 1 can(s)
    water chestnuts, diced
  • 1 1/4 c
    cheddar cheese, grated

How to Make Rice and Sausage Casserole

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine cooked rice and cooked sausage. Add diced chestnuts.
  2. Add enough sour cream to make moist. Takes most and sometimes all of it. Mix in most of cheese. Leave some to place on top.
  3. Pour into a 9x13 baking dish. Bake at 425 degrees 20 to 30 minutes until bubbly.
