You can make this for breakfast or dinner. This is also a great dish to make ahead, store in the refrigerator and bake the next morning or evening.

Ingredients

  • 1 box uncle ben's original recipe wild rice, cooked
  • 1 pound sausage, cooked (i use jimmy deans)
  • 16 ounces sour cream
  • 1 can water chestnuts, diced
  • 1 1/4 cups cheddar cheese, grated

How To Make rice and sausage casserole

  • Step 1
    Combine cooked rice and cooked sausage. Add diced chestnuts.
  • Step 2
    Add enough sour cream to make moist. Takes most and sometimes all of it. Mix in most of cheese. Leave some to place on top.
  • Step 3
    Pour into a 9x13 baking dish. Bake at 425 degrees 20 to 30 minutes until bubbly.
