2strips of wide spare ribs
5 csauerkraut, canned
2apples ...peeled and rough chopped
2 mediumcooking onions chopped
1 Tbspcaraway seeds..optional
4 Tbspbrown sugar
How to Make Ribs and Sauerkraut
- Preheat oven to 350F..cut ribs into 2-bone pieces. in skillet add 2 tablespoons olive or vegetable oil and fry ribs on both sides for 5 to 8 minutes..remove from pan and set aside,
- Do not rinse the sauerkraut just squeeze out all the liquid...place into large roasting pan..chop onion and peeled apple.and mix it with the sauerkraut and caraway seeds..sprinkle brown sugar on top of kraut then place the ribs on top of kraut and bake for 1 hour..turn ribs over and bake for another 35 minutes.
- While ribs are baking add 4 baking potatoes into oven and bake til soft when lightly squeezed. One pot meal and easy clean up.
