Ingredients For pozolé verde

  • 2 lb
    pork stew meat, cut into 1" pieces
  • 2 Tbsp
    oil
  • 30 oz
    can of hominy, drained and rinsed
  • 16 oz
    jar of salsa verde, spicyness to taste
  • 2 c
    chicken broth, low salt
  • 1 md
    white onion, finely chopped
  • 4 oz
    can diced mild chiles
  • 5 clove
    garlic, crushed
  • 1 Tbsp
    cumin
  • 1 tsp
    dried oregano, crushed
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • sour cream

How To Make pozolé verde

  • 1
    Warm oil over medium-high heat. Season pork with salt. Working in batches, brown pork on all sides - 6 to 8 minutes. Add meat to crock pot.

    Stir in all other ingredients. Cover and cook on low for 4.5-5 hours.

    Stir and serve with sour cream if desired.
