Ingredients

  • 5 pounds pork roast, loin end
  • - salt to taste
  • - pepper to taste
  • 1 - garlic clove, minced
  • 2 - onions, sliced
  • 2 - bay leaves
  • 1 - clove
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

How To Make pot-roasted pork

  • Step 1
    Rub pork roast with salt and pepper.
  • Step 2
    Make tiny slits in the meat and insert slivers of garlic.
  • Step 3
    Place roast in broiler pan and broil 15-20 minutes to remove excess fat.
  • Step 4
    Put 1 sliced onion in the bottom of the crockpot.
  • Step 5
    Add browned pork roast and remaining onion and other ingredients.
  • Step 6
    Cover and cook on low until done, about 10 hours.
  • Step 7
    To thicken gravy: Remove roast to serving platter.
  • Step 8
    Blend 2 tablespoons cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water to form a smooth paste.
  • Step 9
    Set crockpot on high and pour in the paste.
  • Step 10
    Stir well and let it come to a boil, about 15 minutes, or until thickened.
