from ambest cookbook, very good recipe, calls for a little time, but well worth it. This recipe came out of Lubbock, Tx. I am leaving prep time to how long it takes a 1 1/2 lb. pork shoulder, cooked and cubed.

Ingredients

onion, chopped

cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
1 1/2 lb.
pork shoulder, cooked and cubed or shredded

cans white or yellow hominy, rinsed and drained
1
can diced tomatoes
1
can diced green chililes
4-5
cans chicken broth
1
cup green chilies, chopped
1/2 tsp
cumin
salt & pepper to taste

How to Make posole

Step-by-Step

  • 1Mix all ingredients and cook over low to medium heat until onions are tender and flavors are blended.
  • 2NOTE: Fresh or canned chopped jalapeno may be added to taste.
