How To Make pork essentials: tenderloin matchsticks on rice

  • Step 1
    PREP/PREPARE
  • Step 2
Gather your Ingredients (mise en place).
  • Step 3
Cut the pork loin into matchsticks.
  • Step 4
Add the pork loin, garlic, honey, vinegar, tamari sauce, mirin, and sesame seeds into a bowl.
  • Step 5
Chef’s Note: You can let the pork rest with the other ingredients for about 15 minutes, but it is not necessary.
  • Step 6
Add the grapeseed oil, and the sesame oil to a sauté pan over high heat.
  • Step 7
When the oil begins to shimmer, add the pork.
  • Step 8
Cook over high heat, until most of the liquid has evaporated, and the sauce begins to thicken, about 4 – 6 minutes.
  • Step 9
Chef’s Tip: You need to keep an eye on the sauce, because you will have about 30 seconds between a good thickened sauce, and a burned sauce. Once you add the pork, do not leave the pan unattended.

    PLATE/PRESENT
  • Step 11
Add the pork matchsticks to a nice bed of warm rice, and sprinkle with a bit of sesame seeds. Enjoy.
