Pork Chops with Kraut

Ingredients

4thick pork chops
-
2 to 3 csauerkraut

4tart apples
-
2onions, sliced
-
1 to 2 Tbspbrown sugar
-
1 to 2 Tbspcaraway seeds (optional)

dash(es)salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cwater
How to Make Pork Chops with Kraut
- Season chops with salt and pepper and brown in a skillet.
- Peel and slice apples.
- Pour half the sauerkraut (add caraway seeds to sauerkraut) into a oven proof casserole, cover with apples, top with onion slices then the remaining sauerkraut. Sprinkle on the brown sugar.
- Arrange chops on top, pour 1/2 cup water into skillet and stir to get all the drippings loose, pour over chops.
- Cover and bake in a 350 degree oven for one hour. Remove cover and cook an additional 15 minutes to brown the meat.
