How to Make Pork Chops w/ Apple Gravy
- Melt shortening in cast iron skillet and add meat. Cook over a medium heat until brown on both sides. Add salt, pepper & 1/2 cup of your apple juice. Cover and let cook over low heat for 45 minutes or til tender. (This depends on how big your pork chops are.)
- about 30-35 minutes into cooking time; boil your egg noodles in the boiling/salted water following pkg. directions. Then drain.
- Remove the pork chop from the skillet & drain off fat leaving 3 TBLSP of drippings in the skillet. Add flour and blend. Gradually add remaining apple juice. Cook over a low heat stirring constantly. Cook til thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Arrange meat on noodles and top with apple gravy. Garnish with glazed apple wedges (or you can saute some chopped apples in butter til tender)and parsley.
