Ingredients

  • 6 pork chops - bone-in
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup uncooked rice
  • 1/2 package taco seasoning
  • 1 can 8-oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, cut into 1/2 inch rings

How To Make pork chops mexican-style

  • Step 1
    Season chops with salt and brown in a large skillet that is oven safe.
  • Step 2
    Spread rice evenly around and in between the pork chops. Meanwhile, combine tomato sauce with the taco seasoning and water and mix well.
  • Step 3
    Pour tomato mixture over the pork and rice. Add green pepper rings over the pork chops. Cover skillet with a lid or foil and back in oven at 350 degrees for 1 - 1 1/4 hours.
  • Step 4
    Remove pork chops from oven and sprinkle cheddar cheese over chops. Replace lid to allow the cheese to melt.
