pork chops italiao
I love any dish that is Italian !! This is one of my favorites. I also love one pot meals. When I make this, I marinate the chops for 6 hours in Italian Dressing.

Ingredients
- 4 pork chops, bone in
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cups sliced mushrooms
- salt and pepper
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1(14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes with juice
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- red bell pepper, cut into thick strips
- fresh basil for garnish
How To Make pork chops italiao

Step 1Heat 1 Tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook mushrooms with a little salt, stiring until tender. Approximately 5 minutes. Transfer mushrooms to a bowl.

Step 2Pat pork chops dry using paper towels. Sprinkle both sides with salt and pepper. Heat 2 Tablespoons oil in skillet until shimmering. Brown 2 chops both sides. Remove to a plate. Brown other 2 chops. Remove to plate.

Step 3Drain off all but 1 Tablespoon fat. Stir in the onion and garlic, stir until onion is softened. Approximately 4 minutes. Stir in tomatoes, basil, and oregano. Bring mixture to a boil.

Step 4Return chops to skillet. Add bell pepper strips. Simmer, covered over medium heat for approximately 4 to 5 minutes. Remove chops, add mushrooms to sauce and simmer approximately 8 minutes. Sprinkle with Basil. Serve.
