    onions, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 c
  • 1/4 tsp

    beef broth, hot
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    unbleached flour
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    vegetable oil

How to Make Pork Chops in Onion Sauce


  1. Season pork chops with salt and pepper; coat with flour. Heat oil in a heavy frying pan.
  2. Add pork chops; fry for 3 minutes on each side. Add onions; cook for another 5 minutes, turning chops once.
  3. Pour in beer and beef broth; cover and simmer 15 minutes.
  4. Remove pork shops to a preheated platter.
  5. Season sauce to taste. Blend cornstarch with a small amount of cold water. Stir into sauce and cook until thick and bubbly.
  6. Pour over pork chops.

  9. Serve with Brussels sprouts and boiled potatoes.
