During the years of feeding five kids, I made these WITHOUT meat. Our kids could invite friends over on game day and I could afford to feed the gang. Now times aren't so tough but I still make these on game day, but WITH meat.

Ingredients For pork and bean boats

  • 2 lg
    french bread loaves
  • 2 can
    pork and beans
  • 16 oz
    sliced cheese
  • 1 lb
    bacon (cooked)

How To Make pork and bean boats

    Slice bread one inch thick
  • 2
    lay single slices on broiler pan. Spoon a layer of pork and beans, then a couple strips of fried bacon and a slice of cheese on top.

    Broil until bread is golden and cheese is melted.

    serve warm
