Ingredients
- 4 1/2 pounds pork shoulder roast, extra fat taken off
- 5 cloves garlic, peeled
- 2 - limes, juice of
- 2 - oranges, juice of
- 2 - sweet onions, cut into quarters
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoons oregano, dried
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper, ground
- corn tortillas
- avocado
- tomatoes, chopped
- cabbage, shredded
- salsa
How To Make perfect pork carnitas

Step 1Mix spices together. Rub spice mix all over the roast.

Step 2Put pork roast, onions, garlic, and both kinds of juice into the slow cooker.

Step 3Close the slow cooker and cook on low for 8-9 hours, or until tender. You can shorten the cooking time if you cook on high, approx 5-6 hours.

Step 4Let pork roast sit for 20 minutes. Break apart and shred the roast putting back into crock pot with the juices on warm.

Step 5Put oven on broil. Put the shredded pork on a large cookie sheet and broil about 3-4 minutes to add a slight crispness.
